Tanaka Precious Metals

TANAKA Precious Metals started in 1885 as a money exchange business dealing with precious metals in Tokyo. Since that time, the company has supported the growth of society through the provision of industrial products made from precious metals.
TANAKA is actively involved with eight precious metal elements: platinum (Pt), gold (Au), silver (Ag), palladium (Pd), rhodium (Rh), iridium (Ir), ruthenium (Ru), and osmium (Os).
In 1889, TANAKA succeeded in commercially manufacturing Japan’s first platinum filament for light bulbs.
Some time later, it started manufacturing items such as electric contact points for telecommunications and ultra-fine gold wire for semiconductor PKG.
In recent years, TANAKA has been busy developing and marketing:

  • Precious metal catalysts for carbon neutrality, energy, and the environment, such as Fuel Cells,
    Water Electrolysis, and Carbon Recycling.
  • Precious metal materials for leading-edge semiconductors, PKG, and power devices such as CVD/ALD precursors, Paste, and Electroplating Solutions.
  • Precious metal magnetic materials for HDD and nonvolatile memory.
  • Medical solutions using precious metals, such as Medical Components and In-vitro Diagnostics.

TANAKA is a global group with manufacturing and sales facilities established early on in Europe, the U.S., China, and Asia, building systems that meet the expectations and trust of customers.
Continuing forward under the slogan of “Mastering Precious Metals,” through research, development, and the stable supply of precious metals and other materials, TANAKA will proactively challenge environmental issues, energy measures, and pollution measures, contributing to the creation of a prosperous society and to the future.
